SUPER SUNSCREENS!

Sun protection s non-negotiable. Experts agree that SPF30 is the standard for most skin types  (if you are very fair and non sensitive, you will need to go higher). But do look beyond SPF, which only protects against UVB; check that you are getting broad spectrum protection (against UVA rays too) and a photo-stable formula that won't break down once exposed to sunlight.

ANCIENT GREEK SCANDALS

According to an Ancient Greek myth, the gods and goddesses had their sandals made on the beautiful island of Crete by a gifted sandal maker who enriched each pair with magical powers. Famous for having made the flying sandals for Hermes, the sandal maker also embellished them with his personal signature… a “golden wing” buckle.
Ancient Greek Sandals are handmade locally by skilled craftsmen using traditional techniques that have existed for centuries. A raw, yet feminine aesthetic distinguishes this new sandal brand. The chemical free, natural tan leather ages beautifully with time and wear.
Christina and Nikolas’s love for Ancient Greece and its history, combined with their individual technical skills naturally led to the creation of ‘Ancient Greek Sandals’. The collection is inspired by ancient Greek Gods and myths, pottery, jewellery and sculpture.

EASY GLOW HAIR!

I never pack a hairdryer, straightener or curling iron when I head off on a beach holiday-I like to give my hair a break (and I'm greatful not to have to pay excess baggage fees). My priorities are to keep my hair out of the sun-to protect my colour from damaging UV rays-and to defend my hair against the drying effects of sea water and chlorine. To do this, these are the only tree products I need:

1. PHYTOPLAGE PROTECTIVE SUN OIL
    PHYTO
This is the oriinal, cult hair nourishing protector. I spray it into dry hair first thing, then twist nto a high bun.

2. RARE BLEND MOISTURE-RICH CLEANSING CONDITIONER
ojon.co.uk
This is such a great shampoo/conditioner combo. It saves having to pack two products, and leaves my hair cashmere soft.

3. CC Creme Complete Care Cream
Kerastase
This is a fantastic all-round leave-in repairing treatment.

3 WAYS TO GLOW!

1. SCRUB, SCRUB, SCRUB... AND SCRUB SOME MORE
It is the ultimate secret to an even fake tan. Exfoliating every morning for five days before a holiday and use Oil Beauty Oil-Infused Nourishing Scrub from Garnier. Do not use an oil scrub on the day of your self-tan; it will prevent the colour from adhering to the skin.
2. DO NOT MOISTURISE PRE-TAN
Dust like oil scrubs, moisturisers act as a barrier. So before you self-tan, only rub body lotion over areas where you want a diluted colour-key spots are ankles, feet, knees, elbows and the tops of your hands.
3....BUT DO MOISTURISE TO MAKE YOUR TAN LAST
For a start, hydrated skin always looks healthier. But moisturising regularly will also prevent your tan from fading or going patchy. So don't hold back!

FORCED MARRIAGE: TIME TO ACT

By the end of this year, 14 million girls worldwide under the age of 18 will be forced into marriage-and it is estimated that up to 8,000 of them are from the UK. It is an ordeal no child should face-never mind this shockingly high number. This month, forced marriage is on the UK political agenda as the government hosts a summit on July 22. Prime Minister David Cameron said " Forcing a woman or girl into marriage is a serious abuse of human rights and robs her of the right to chose her own future. The UK leads the world in tackling this practice and that is why we have recently taken decisive action to criminalise it. This month we will be hosting a major summit to help tackle the issue, in the UK and around the world. I want to send a clear and strong message: this practice is totally unacceptable, illegal and will not be tolerated in the UK." The summit will bring together over 400 people including survivors and representatives from UNICEF, charities and overseas governments. Aneeta Prem, founder of Freedom Charity, believes that the summit can make a real, lasting difference. "Criminalisation is the first step, but we need to teach children, teachers and the police how to spot the early signs of forced marriage and how to deal with it" says Aneeta. " We have made progress in the UK. Now it is time to make it global issue. This is something that we could see eradicated in our lifetime."

HOW TO DO FESTIVAL DRESSING!

According to Leila Yavari, fashion director of stylebop.com , ex-model and host of one of Coachella's most glamorous parties, you can rock Coachella (America's Glastonbury) by following the tips below:
WHITE
Worried your white won't stay bright? "Layer up: pop a colourful cape over a white top or tie a shirt around your waist to protect white shorts."
BAG
"A small handbag is fine: all you really need is SPF, hand sanitiser, lip balm, money and your phone. A long strap keeps it out of the way while dancing."
SHORTS
"Invest in shorts like you would jeans: a great pair will be just a useful off the festival grounds, and they don't have to be tight or super-short. Try Current/Elliott or J Brand."
BOOTS
Some prefer wedges, but outside of the VIP area, Embrace 2014's trend for flats. Festival sites are huge and you want to be able to dance all night."
